The File Specification Panel in the Oso XML Merge Preferences Dialog provides options to control various aspects of an XML format specification file.Identifying Options
These options allow you to define how Oso XML Merge identifies a format specification when loading XML files.Name
User defined name that helps you identify a particular format specification. This name is also the name of the XML file used to store the format
specification itself.Filename Wildcards
Optional wildcards of XML files that can use this format specification. These are used when multiple XML files share a common root element but
have their own individual format specifications.Root Element
The root element of XML files for this format specification. Oso XML Merge identifies XML files by their root elements. This cannot be changed
here, it is displayed merely for informational purposes.
Additional Options
Refresh When Loading New XML Files
Indicates that Oso XML Merge should update this format specification when loading new XML files that use it.Updating is performed when loading XML files to add additional element and/or attribute names to the format specification for use in the Preferences Dialog. For very large XML files, however, this updating can take some time. For that reason, you can disable automatic updating through this option.
Delete This Format Specification
Indicates to Oso XML Merge that you wish to delete this format specification. The deletion will occur when you close the Preferences Dialog by
clicking on the OK button.
